Amidst Srinagar’s stunning landscapes, a silent force stands watch. MARCOS, the elite guardians, patrol the picturesque Dal Lake with an unwavering commitment to security. As the world’s gaze turns to this breathtaking city, the presence of these elite soldiers sends a powerful message: Srinagar is ready to host the global stage and ensure a successful #G20 event.
As Srinagar prepares to host the upcoming G20 meeting from May 22 onward, significant efforts are underway to ensure a secure environment for the prestigious global event. Notably, the Indian authorities have implemented stringent security measures, including the involvement of the Indian Navy’s Marine Commandos (MARCOS) Special Force. Some eye-catching photos of the fierce commandos have been doing rounds on the internet while they were patrolling the majestic Dal Lake in their speedboats. Known for their expertise in maritime operations, the MARCOS bring their specialized skills and training to maintain security in the vicinity.

A three-tier security arrangement has been put in place ahead of the three-day event. National Security Guards (NSG) commandos, working in coordination with local police and paramilitary forces, are actively involved in enhancing security measures. Area domination exercises and comprehensive searches are being conducted to fortify the overall security apparatus. These collaborative efforts ensure a multi-layered security approach and instil confidence in the attendees. Additionally, the Border Security Force (BSF) has bolstered security along the International Border ahead of the G20 meeting in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar.
The presence of elite forces such as the MARCOS and NSG commandos not only captivates the attention of spectators but also showcases India’s adeptness in addressing complex security challenges. The sight of these highly trained units, patrolling Dal Lake exudes a sense of strength, preparedness, and resilience, putting on display the immense efforts taken to ensure the safety and success of the G20 meeting.
